  1. Details please.  What system and what type of connection do you have?  also, are you wireless or wired?


  2. it may just be your connection to that particular host/room. if there are other computers/devices using the internet (i.e. downloading) at the same time, that can cause it to be slower. also, if you live in an apartment area, you may be sharing the same internet line as your neighbors which can result in slower speeds. i would suggest having a wired connection if possible. i've had both cable and DSL and DSL has worked out better for me.
