  1. Address,

    name

How many people are in the buliding on fire

Is it under control or not.

    Where you are

    are there pets in danger

  2. Everything they ask for.

They are ready for these calls, and understand you aren't

  3. Normally the 911 dispatchers have at their systems an automatic directional dispatch which has your land line and address already dispatched to the appropriate fire house.  If you ARE calling from a cell phone,  you need to get you and whoever, pets (only if you can)  out as quickly as possible and THEN call 911.  Possibly a neighbor has called for you so that will be on record as well.   If you are unable to reach them at all by land line,  by all means stay calm (your adrenaline will be flowing)  and give them the correct address and who or what animals may still be in the dwelling.  Also, do not hang up until the dispatcher tells you its ok to.  If they're doing their job properly, they will stay on the line with you and ask you to as well.  They will also try to assist you to calm down.   BTW,  especially let them know if there's a medical situation involved such as oxygen tanks.  If you are able and know of any hazardous (automotive or otherwise)  chemicals,  let them know that as well.   They need to know as much as possible to help as much as they can and dispatch the quickest equipment.
