I play checkers a lot and i been playing for years. I know getting off to a good start is important because if you have fewer peices you are more likely to lose..

MY QUESTION IS WHAT IS THE BEST MOVE TO DO FIRST. WHAT PEICE TO WHAT SQUARE.

I think that the best is 6b-5a(right side on third row to the right... Some people think different. What are your opinions???

  2. I always move my far right hand piece to the right.  I don't know if that is the best move, but your question led me to do a bit of searching for information about checkers - draughts, and I was surprised by how little I found, considering the game has been around such a long time.  I thought you might be interested in these links if you haven't seen them already.  The last one has a discussion of opening moves.  Interesting question.
