  1. AFAIK, any move other than castling that breaks the check is legal.

  3. You mean capture the pawn putting him in check via en passant?  It is rare,but possible.

    You mean blocking a check by moving a pawn two squares when it can be en passant captured?  Sure you can block with a piece about to be captured.  After it is they have to get out of check again, but that temporary move is legal.


  4. No.  A player MUST first try to get out of check.


  5. Yes, you can en passant out of check - your king would have to be somewhere near the middle of the board- WHAT IS IT DOING OUT THERE UNGUARDED?!
