In chess it often happened to me in better position and in better time that my clock didnt stop after my move.

I had the feeling that my opponent cheated me with time. My clock simply didn't stop after I finished my move. Is this possible or am I wrong?

It's a bug. Same happens to me all the time. That's why I prefer unlimited time.

EDIT:

Might not always be a bug. Maybe your internet connection is a bit faulty or some wire is loose somewhere. Timers in Java require a good, fast internet connection.
