Depends on what kind of car you have, year, engine size, etc.  Some engines don't even have timing belts.  On average for a 4 cylinder, they can run 600-800 hundred, more for 6 cylinders.  If your replacing the belt because it broke while you were driving, be prepared to accept the fact the engine may be damaged beyond repair and may need to be replaced.
