In college as a part time marine reserve?

if someone is a inactive ready reserve and after they are done with boot camp want to enroll in school does that count as active duty and what is the pay for that??????

  1. actually after boot camp, you still need to go training for 3-5months. after that you go back to your area to work for 1weekend per month. That sure count towards your enlistment date for your reserve contract. You get paid for those 2days maybe around $200 and some sort of benefit with that.


  2. One does NOT go directly to IRR after Boot camp or  basic training.  one either is Active Duty or Reserves.  you cannot go IRR until you have fulfilled your obligated service.. depending on job, as long as 6 years

    Reservists only get paid when they are in uniform:  the one weekend a month/2 weeks a year deal.  they are STILL deployable even if attending college full time(unless they are ALSO simultaneously enrolled in ROTC)

    you attend Boot camp/Basic, then your follow on schooling, and then either report to a Drill unit or an Active duty command.  

    AD may only attend college courses with permission from their chain of command.  you will NOT be allwoed to attend college full time while being Active Duty.
