In commerce we prepare profite and loss account?

In commerce we prepare profite and loss account

so by preparing that we will get either profit or loss

so why cant we write profit and loss account as profit or loss account?

I think I'm probably "lost" on the question.

I think, because, in my opinion, profit and loss is simply Standard Operating Procedure of the company whether their operation are in profit and loss.

Because profit and loss is the result of revenue minus expense accounts.  It is not an account on its own.
