I have been in pain for weeks now. I has my son 12 weeks ago, but I dont think that has anything to do with it. I have been having pain in the left side of my pelvis, near my left ovary. Went to the doctors several times, and have had numerous tests done. There is no cyst, had ultrasound twice, just a small amount of fluid. Was checked for PID, negative. Was given medication for my ulcer, that helped my stomach problems, then was given anti-spasm medication, for Irritable bowel syndrome, and laxatives, but the pain is still there. It gets worse if I get stressed, and sometimes the pain is so bad that it shoots down my leg and around to my back.

Since my doctors dont seem to know what it is, anyone have an idea?

(I thought it was ovulation pain, but I have been in pain for almost 3 weeks now)

  1. your pain sounds like Endometriosis to me. i have had endo for many years and had many laparoscopy surgeries for it and it wasn't until the 6th one when they found the endo tissue displaced. it does not always cause infertility. my moms got worse shortly after having my brother before me and than again after having had me. you ought to seek a second and even a third opinion. you know something is a'miff and you should listen to your body till you find a dr. that will listen to you. endo can be so small that it will not show up on diagnostic test and even during surgery. this is why a lot of dr.'s aren't willing to look for it. plus surgery can and more than likely will cause scar tissue. on the bright side, the last surgery i had gave me years of reliefe that i wouldn't trade for anything. the pain is back but i go to a pain clinic and control my pain with medications. if you use the birth control pill, you can talk to your dr. about skipping the surgar pill and going right to the next pack. keeping you from getting your monthly cycle. if you notice a decrease in pain, chances are that you may have endo. this is a great non surgical way to control pain from endo. go to webmd.com and look it up they will have a list of symptoms and see if they match yours. shooting pain down your leg, pain in your back and pain in the area of your ovary this is exactly what i have and have had for years. my dr. said the tissue was never found to interfere with my fallopian tubes. gd lk hope this helps. take care

  2. Go to a different doctor and don't let them blow you off, do research on the net. It's your body and your health, you feel something is not right then go see as many doctors as it take to find out what is is.

    Good luck!
