Cut round steak into its natural sections. Heat 2 TBSP vegetable oil in a large skillet. Flour meat & put into hot skillet. Brown quickly on both sides(dont cook it). Put browned steaks into a heatproof, heavy casserole dish. In saucepan,bring to boil: soup,mushrooms and chicken broth. Pour over round steak,cover and bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours. Good with whipped potatoes & green beans.

  1. Beef round steak is a lean, oval-shaped cut containing round bone and three major muscles: top, bottom, and eye of round.  


  2. Look at the steak. You should see 3 sections....one long one and two below that that are divided in about half. Cut those apart, then cut the long one in half. You'll wind up with 4 pieces of approximately the same size.
