In court for a speeding ticket do they have the video of you speeding?and what if you lie about why you were ?

i got a speeding ticket and told my parents i was by a big truck and i sped up to get around it? i was told that i have to go to court and im 16? what will happen to me. i know that i should not have lied but know im screwed. will they have the video of me gettting pulled over?

  1. There is no need to have a video of a speeding citation.  The officers go through plenty of training to write citations.  It is your word against the officer's.  And you already admitted you were speeding...there is no leeway for "i was by a big truck and i sped up to get around it".


  2. You'll get punished by your parents for lying to them.  Yes, you'll have to go to court, but most likely you will just get a fine.  Your license may be suspended, but probably not.  And yes, most of the time cops have cameras on their dashboards.

  3. They may have had the dashboard camera on. Yup you should have not lied. Just got to court and plead guilty and than pay the fine.
