  1. the ball doesnt have to bounce as long as its waist hight, or what you would call a full toss.

you can also bowl a ball under arm if you dont already know.

  2. It does not have too bounce at all, after all a Yorker is aimed at the base of the stumps. If a ball double bounces it is a no ball and the ball must be below shoulder height when it reaches the batsman.

  3. the ball doesnt have to bounce

  4. no, the ball has to bounce so it and hit the wickets

  5. One bounce is allowed, a full toss doesn't bounce at all and is legal as long as it's below the batsman's waist.

I recall a certain fast bowler, now long retired, who would bowl some horrendous bouncers that whistled past the batsman's nose, then when he judged the batsman sufficiently intimidated he'd hurl a high-speed full toss down and the batsman would instinctively step out of the way - result, one shattered middle stump!

  6. Yes they can as long as it stays below the waist

  7. Yes it is true believe me I play a lot and watch a lot of cricket to know this!!!

  8. low full toss

  9. if the ball bounce twice in cricket it will be count as no-ball

  10. You can legally bowl a ball that doesn't bounce such as a " full toss", but if it is aimed at the upper part of the batsman's body it then becomes a "beamer" which is illegal and will result in a warning from the umpire ,and if you persist in bowling such deliveries, you can be removed from the attack.Similarly, a ball bouncing more than once before reaching the batsman is also illegal and will be called a no-ball by the umpire.

  11. Yes.It is called a full toss. If it bounces twice, then it is a dead ball .But if the second bounce is inside the crease, then it is a no ball.

If u don't know what is a full toss, here is the information about full toss.

A full toss is a type of delivery in the sport of cricket. It describes any delivery that reaches the batsman without bouncing on the pitch first.

Full tosses are sparingly bowled deliberately, as they defeat the purpose of most types of delivery, which is to deceive the batsman by bouncing unpredictably on the pitch. They are commonly greeted with delight by a batsman, as they tend to be very easy to hit, and are frequently dispatched to the boundary for four or six runs. A full toss is frequently the result of an unintentional error made while attempting to bowl a yorker, which would land around the batsman's feet.

Occasionally a full toss can surprise a batsman so effectively that he is unable to play it properly, and this can lead to a wicket, but no bowler relies on this. There have been occasions in which a bowler intentionally bowls a full toss to achieve maximum swing into the base of the stumps. This was commonly seen with Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram, though recently Lasith Malinga of Sri Lanka has been seen slinging in low flying full tosses with his unorthodox round arm action.

A full toss that reaches the batsman above waist height from a fast bowler is a no ball under the Laws of Cricket, as is any full toss above shoulder height for a spinner. Such balls, known as beamers, are almost invariably caused by the ball slipping out of the bowler's hand accidentally during the delivery action. A bowler who inadvertently bowls such a delivery will usually apologise to the batsman.

Full tosses below the waist are also commonly accidental. They can be caused by mistiming in the bowler's action as he attempts a yorker or changes his hand grip to produce a deceptive slower ball.

A full toss can also be used by a bowler to deliberately intimidate weaker, lower order batsmen, though the risk of a delivery being called a no-ball by the umpire is higher against such batsmen.

  12. if a ball bounces twice its a no ball. if a ball doesn't bounce it's called a full toss.

  13. I'm not sure but there was one famous account of where it was the last ball of the match, and they needed 4 runs or so to win. The bowler rolled the ball to the batter, putting the game of cricket into shame!!

  14. YES!

The bowler usually shy's away from bowling a ball that doesnt bounce, because it is easier for the batsmen to hit the ball away to the boundary.

Deliviries that dont bounce are called "Full tosses", you can have low full tosses (near the batsmen's shins) or high full tosses (near the batsmen's thighs). If the bowler bowls it higher than the batsmen's hips! then that is an illegal ball! and will not be counted! (the team gets a run) If the bowlers bowls it near the batsmen's head or neck, then the umpire will view that delivery as a beamer and the bowler will be cautioned.

If the delivery bounces more than once before it passes the stumps then it will be called a no-ball! So the rule is that the ball can only bounce once! before it reaches the stumps!

  15. A delivery CAN BOUNCE TWICE, it is called a no-ball only if it bounces more than twice or rolls. Law 24.6 ( http://www.lords.org/laws-and-spirit/law... )

It can be bowled without bouncing, which is called a fulltoss, at an acceptable level. (When a fast bowler bowls above the shoulder of a batsman it will called a 'beamer', and will be warned once and second time he does in the same innings he will barred from bowling in that innings) above which it will be considered unfair and called noball, according to Law 24.8.

An unfair delivery according to Law- 42.6

    (i) Any delivery, other than a slow paced one, which passes or would have passed on the full above waist height of the striker standing upright at the crease is to be deemed dangerous and unfair, whether or not it is likely to inflict physical injury on the striker.

(ii) A slow delivery which passes or would have passed on the full above shoulder height of the striker standing upright at the crease is to be deemed dangerous and unfair, whether or not it is likely to inflict physical injury on the striker.

  16. If the ball bounces twice, it is a no-ball so no for that.

The ball doesn't have to bounce, as long as it is below the batsman's waist height when it reaches him. - full toss.

  17. Yes you have it right.

However for a slow bowler the ball has to be below shoulder height.  Anyone else has to be below waist height.
