In cricket is batsman out when ball hit pad first and batsman stops the ball with bat going on to stumps?

In Cricket

batsman was not out LBW. ball hit the pads first but while the ball is going onto the stumps, batsman stopped the ball with bat.

Is the batsman considered out ?
