Yorker is a full length delivery, that pitches right in the blockhole ( Blockhole is the place where batsmen take guard before playing the ball). The best time to ball a yorker for a fast bowler is when the ball starts reverse swinging.  It's a weapon used mainly by fast bowlers, even though many spinners are also use it regularly. It's a great ploy against an attacking batsman, who tries to slog and also to the tail enders.
