I'm beginning to understand cricket, but not that much. So I'm thinking if both bat people are running wouldn't it be incredibly easy to steal the wicket? and when the wicket is gone the guy is out? yes? no? Thanks!

  1. Looks like Man in The Mask is showing his true colours again?? what were Bingalee, Mel and The Oracle saying about him being more respective and less biased.

To put it simply. If the two batsmen are out of the crease, any fielder (including the bowler) can knock the wickets over (the wickets are the 3 sticks in the ground) before the batsmen run to the other side and solidify there position in the crease.

The fielders can either knock the stumps over by throwing the ball at the stumps, or by throwing the ball to another fielder who then hit the stumps manually.

    This should help

  2. If the player is into the Line of wicket then he wouldn't be out if the ball touch the wicket.

  3. I am disappointed with the answers from two users here, who managed to bring racism into yet another reasonable question. It shows nothing but your contempt for the English & Australian people & does you a great disservice..No, the wicketkeeper must have the ball to cause a run out.

Edit: Sorry KooKee, we all make mistakes

  4. You're right, you don't understand that much about cricket. No-one can steal anyone's wicket. The batsman may be run out by any fielder who hits his wicket while he's out of the crease

  5. In cricket, there isn't anything like stealing the wicket.

I know what you mean. But this isn't baseball. Cricket is more of a running game when you hit the ball and let the fielders play the ball. The two batsmen are like batteries running between wickets and making runs for their teams. However, if one of the batsman doesn't get back to one of those wickets in time and the fielder strikes the wicket with the ball, then he is OUT and the batting team lose one wicket.

The concept is similar to musical chairs. You run around the chairs and when the music stops, you all find a chair to sit in.

Hope this helps. If you need any more info on cricket, you can ask me. Thanks.

  7. There are many ways of getting wickets:

    Bowled

    Caught

    Stumped by wicket-keeper

    run-out

hit-wicket( when batsman hits his own wickets that he is defending)

    LBW-leg before wicket

What are you talking about? Who would steal it?

  9. grabbing a wicket is not a science at all, the art has been mastered by lot of cricketers down under ! it is important that people do their job and i do mine, similarly cricketers also follow the same rule, wicket grabbed means job done, done !
