  1. I believe that there will be a pink wire and that should connect to the black power wire, or the blue turn on lead. I'm not sure exactly, so take the headunit out, and play with those wires and see what happens. Same thing happened to my kenwood, and I fixed it myself.

  2. http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-VIDEO-BYPASS...

Buy this and your worries are over...Works great on my Pioneer unit.

  3. It sounds as if the parking brake connection is not connected correctly.  If you had it professionally installed, I'd take it back and have them check it.

There have been a couple vehicles in which I've had to install a diode on the factory parking brake wire before the Pioneer AV unit would detect the brake status.

If the installer just grounded the parking brake input instead of connecting it to the vehicle's parking brake wire, that won't work.  The unit has to detect the parking brake being set and released; it won't turn off the safety interlock if the wire's connected straight to ground.

  4. Its probably not hooked up to the proper brake wire.  I had this problem with my Pioneer DVD monitor.  I ended up hooking it to one of the brake wires so it cuts picture only when I use the brake pedal, regardless if i'm in Park or Drive.
