  1. The answer should be D, but it is way short of correct.

  3. All of the above are correct in their own right and in particular regions, but the one that is right across the board is D.  

    Many areas are having new crops being introduced that are not native.  In order to grow the new varieties, more intensive practices have to be used to combat new insect pests, soil moisture conditions, climate, and general management.

  4. Land after clearing forests is mainly used for industries and residential purpose. And there is no increase in agri land instead there is decrease in cultivable land and is used for SEZ, MIDC or residential purpose. Thats why I feel that its due to hi-breed varieties, intense and INDUSTRIAL farming  and better use of irrigation alongwith advances in inputs like pesticide and plant growth promoters.
