  1. for me it depends on the sport. in my baseball fantasy league i trade alot but in basketball and football, i dont trade too often. :-)

  2. The secret to success is a good draft.

Seasons are won or lost based on the strength of the draft, and the 'value' you acheieved when drafting players at each position.

That said, scrounging off the waiver wire, and trading depth for superstars are two ways to push for a championship.

I find that I make one or two surgical trades, and use the waiver wire to backfill for depth and compensate for injuries, regardless of the sport.

Managers who trade a lot often dilute their teams to the point that they cannot get over rough patches in the schedule, or survive key injuries.

It's a balancing act.  Don't feel like you have to trade.  Often the best trades are the ones you don't make.

  3. In my eyes, ones ability to make the correct trade makes a better fantasy sports player.

Any trades can make or break your season, and that is a huge aspect of fantasy sports.

However making a trade isn't just about the players, its also if you can read the person making the trade with you. If they are really high on a certain player, you can always trade him for more value than he is worth and then get away with that one. Sometimes fans of teams, value a certain player higher than they might of one of another spot, and they will "pay" more for that player.

Trading players just like all aspects of fantasy sports has its own little techiques and practices. They take skill and a bit of luck to be honest.

    I earlier this year traded

    Granderson for Berkman...I got Berkman.

I got lucky with that trade, but Berkman rarely gets injured and usually produces some really good years. He has been on fire so far. I also shipped off Willis and Roberts for Uggla and Vasquez. I would say I've made 2 really good trades with Berkman and Uggla being a couple top 10 hitters this year.

Trading is all about skill and your ability to haggle. If you can get more than what you origionally thought you could, you made a good trade.

I try and trade all of my players for more to be honest.

    Good luck!!
