  1. make eye contact with your customer.

If you make a mistake, or even if the customer does (say he said a #3 instead of #4) apologize for your error.

    Always say "Thank you."

  2. To deliver good customer service it is important to be friendly and have a good attitude.  Chick-fil-a has a good product so that's important too.   Good service may have different meanings to different people.  You may be more kind and patient with an older person than say for instance with a teenager.  The customer is there to buy a meal/snack/drink and does deserve to be treated well.  Just remember if the restaurant does not have customers you will be out of a job.  And make the customer want to sing praises of your establishment instead of complaints, word of mouth is a powerful advertisement.

  3. Even if you hate it, act like you want to be there and the customer isn't annoying you. Acknowledge the customer when they come in (Hi. I'll be with you in a minute or Hi. May I help you?).

These are the a couple I can think of.

  4. I went to a Taco Bell recently and if I woudl have closed my eyes, I could have believed that I was at a sit down restraunt. The order taker allowed me time to look at the menu, make subsitutions to my order; all without pressuring me to hurry. She even told me that they have a survey where you can earn $1000.00 for participating and that hardly anyone does, so I should. She was so pleasent and helpful.  I felt like I was the only customer there even though there was a long line. A really great example of how every business shoudl treat you.
