  1. kind of ... sort of.....

  2. Um, the flying camel is a spin, one of the flying spins. A camel spin is simply a spin in which the figure skater spins with their leg out at a ninety degree angle, as if in a spiral. These look like jumps - the flying camel and death drop - but are actually spin entries.

As for jumps in which the skater "kicks his leg out" . . . all I can think of is an Axel. It has a forward takeoff, so what the skater does is kick his/her leg up in the takeoff, and rotates one, two, or three and a half revolutions to land backward. The other jumps don't really have anything resembling kicking, I think.

  3. that would be a waltz jump.....flying camel is a spin

  4. First "jump" that came to my mind when reading your question was Waltz Jump.

Flying camel you kick "around" more than kick "out".  Although it is a cross between a jump and a spin, it is categorized as a flying spin.

  5. yes

  6. There is no jump that a skater kicks his or her leg out. The flying camel is a flying/jumping spin. Now you could argue that since you are off the ground it is a jump, but technically, the flying camel is a spin, not a jump. The closest thing to what you described would be a Split Jump. In a Split Jump, you kick your legs into a split in the air from a mohawk (a turn). Then after you land on your left foot, you turn around and put your right leg down. After you put your left foot down in a check out (technical name for landing a jump), you look cool. The split jump is a really cool jump!

There is also the "beginer" jump: the waltz jump. In that one, you kick your leg up and jump and land on the leg you kicked with.

There is also the axel. In an axel you start off like a waltz jump and just pull your arms in ward in the middle of the jump.

The flying camel is categorized as a flying spin.

So, in conclusion, the flying camel is a spin.

    Thank You!
