In-form Sawpit Sensation prevails in Swindon Monkey 509ER - Heat 1
As expected, Sawpit Sensation continued his good form in the opening heat of Swindon Monkey 509ER, held at Swindon on Wednesday, May 9th.
The black dog was not able to get an early advantage, but that did not put him under pressure. After the first couple of bends, he changed his gears and took his speed to the maximum level.
As a result, the hound attained a decent lead that he retained till the finishing line. He covered the area in just 30.14 seconds, beating Crusty Crab by 3¾ lengths.
The dashing hound came to this race after a few brilliant performances and therefore, the bookmakers were not reluctant to declare him favourite.
His four wins out of the last six races suggest how good rhythm he is in at the moment. In his last appearance at Swindon, D. Hunt’s trainee maintained the highest standards of speed, beating Tae Toe by ½ a length. The maverick hound has the ability to produce good results regularly.
With a few brilliant performances under his belt, he was pumped up with confidence. Therefore, it was almost impossible for his rivals to stop him from winning last night.
The 509 metres heat started at 20:22 GMT. Among the confirmed entries were: Sawpit Sensation, Crusty Crab, Riverside Jess, Head Teacher, Winslow Wonder and Queen O The Mall.
Crusty Crab made his comeback after staying out of action for more than nine months. In order to prepare himself for this exciting event, the blue dog recently made a few solo trips. In his most recent outing at the start of this month, R. Jones’ trainee covered an area of 509 metres in just 30.01 seconds.
The blue dog could not make significant improvement this time, but managed to grab the runner-up place by a neck’s distance. Riverside Jess did a fine job to beat Head Teacher, who performed decently during the past few weeks. The black b***h locked the third place by five and a quarter lengths.
Following a terrific win, Sawpit Sensation will be considered as hot favourite for the finale of Swindon Monkey 509ER. Let’s see whether he does an equally good job in the grand finale.
