  1. it is usually cheapest to fly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

  2. There is no day when they routinely raise prices.

Airlines change fares regularly depending on supply and demand for specific flights. I've seen the fare for a single flight change multiple times in a single day. They have also raised fares periodically in response to the increasing price of oil. However, they don't pick a certain day of the week to do it. They just do it when they feel it to be necessary.

The number of discount seats per flight is limited. You will also see the price go up whenever the cheapest available seats sell out.

Be sure watch the advance purchase requirement for discount fares. If the cheapest fare requires that you buy the ticket 14 days before you go, you will see a huge price change on the 13th day.

  3. school vecations.
