I plan on taking a trip to Germany sometime next year and would like to know how much a glass of beer costs in Germany. I'm just looking for a ballpark figure for an average size beer. Thank you.

  1. I'm paying usually between 2,50 and 4,- Euro in a pub or restaurant, depending on glass size (0,33 or 0,4 or 0,5 liters are common) and brand. Beer specialties (e.g. imported beer or strong beer like Doppelbock) are more expensive.

    In supermarkets you'll get a crate of beer (24 x 0,33 L or 20 x 0,5 L) for 15,- to 20,- Euros.

  2. it depends on the beer you would like to drink..

you can get beer for 1 euro but you can also pay 5 or even 6 euros....

the highest price i have ever seen for a beer was on the october fest.... 10 euro (!!!!)

  3. the usual glass size is 300 ml and it will cost you roughly 3 Euros...it really depends where you are tough..in some remote areas you might get it for 1.20-1.50 Euros, in Cities its likely to cost 2.50-3.00 Euros in a Pub, slighly more in a Nightclub. Drinking still is relatively cheap in Germany and remember...our beer is much stronger than elsewhere...so you can get fully loaded with 10 Euros...

  4. $5.00

  5. It depends where you are.  My local in Kreuzberg charges 1.90€ for 500 cl but it costs more the closer I get to the centre of town so if I go to e.g., the K'udamm it can cost 3 - 4 €

  6. Hey!

It depends on where you go. Generally beer is more expensive in big cities than in small towns. The following prices is the usual price range in German restaurants and pubs.

Regional specialties are cheaper, of course. Try these, as you'll never find a good Kölsch in Bavaria or a good Lager in Berlin, small villages, towns, etc sometimes have excellent local breweries, which are unknown in the rest of Germany:

    Northrhine-Westphalia - Kölsch (Köln-Cologne) & Alt (Düsseldorf)

    0.25-0.3 litre = 1.50-2.50€

Middlegermany, Eastern Germany (Berlin) - Pilsener

    0.5 l = 2.00-2.50€

    Northern Germany (Hamburg) - Export

    0.3-0.5 l = 2.00-3.00 €

    Souhern Germany/Bavaria (Munich) - Lager

    0.5 l = 2.50-3.50 €

1 l = 1 "Maß" = 4.50-6.00€ (in Beergardens in and around Munich) or around 7.00€ at the Oktoberfest in Munich

As already mentioned (by another Bavarian), you'll never pay more than 1€ (~1,30$) for a half-litre bottle of beer in the supermarket, be careful when you buy it at a petrol station (it can be much more expensive thn in a supermarket); in nightclubs, cinemas, discotheques, etc. the beer price is considerably higher.

    Enjoy your stay and "Prost!"

  7. 2,50 to 4 euro for a medium size glass of decent beer!

Am Dutch, was born and raised near the german border.

  8. About 4 €.

  9. This is what I remember from my time in Germany 2003/2004.  The average bar in Freiburg charged 4euros for a half-liter of Beer.  I seem to remember from travels that this was common outside of the high-touristy bars in bigger cities.  Of course Oktoberfest will draw crowds and way high prices.

A bottle of beer (usually also a half-pint of liquid) costs less than 2 euros at the grovery store, probably even under a euro a bottle in sixpacks.

  10. hello. i'm bavarian (southern part of gemany - oktoberfest). in bavaria we use 0,5 liter for export beer and 0,3 liter glases for pils and it's average less then 3 euro except in clubs ore nightclubs. a bootle of the best beer in the world - bavarian of course *smile* - 0,5 liter in a store it's about 70 eurocent. welcome to germany next year and have a lot of fun!

  11. I'll find out myself tomorrow!

  12. Last year, when I was in Germany, I think I paid four or five euros for the beer.
