  1. I watched two world war films last night,

    I cant answer this.

  2. lovely and miss portrayed people!

  3. I am german, can I judge myself? Ok, I guess that was not the intention of the original question, but I still feel the need to write something: it sort of makes me feel sad to read something about not being able to forgive the germans. I was born 20 years after WW2 ended and so I do not know anything about ripping families apart in world wars or killing people because somebody tells me to do it. In fact I like my country, I like peacful people, I like to help where I can, I like to share with the poor, I like to be basically nonpolluting and I really can not understand those who convict a whole nation because of something that happened in the past where I can not be held responsible for. Or am I a criminal just because perhaps my dad was a killer? (He wasn't by the way he fled from Germany when it was about time)

  4. loud, rude and on time

  5. they hate auslander

  6. They know how to drink, and they have better Christmases.

  7. Practical, punctual, hard working, northerners a bit rude and very distant, southerns (Bavarians) a bit more laid back but quite snobbish and status conscious.  When they let their guard down they can be quite funny.  Germans are not spontaneous...everything MUST be done by appointment.  Dont you dare show up their house unannounced!  Whoa!  You could be friends for years and they may not even open the door if you show up unannounced...lol.  If you plan to go, make sure you PLAN...that means everyone has adequate time to schedule the date although they would probably be at home watching television anyway, and make sure to call the restaurant if you want a table.  They can be quite formal..Herr and Frau German, dont call them by their first name unless directed.  They wear the ugliest but most comfortable shoes.  They love to dress casual!  It is VERY common to meet a German that lives in their hometown only the 'weekends' because they travel to work in another city during the week.  The Germans are usually quite conservative but lo and behold what you may find out happens behind closed doors will surprise you, for example the cannibalist who ate a guy while he was alive....shocking to most, but if you know the Germans you know that the saying is true, dont judge the book by its cover.  Dieter may be hiding the biggest skeleton in that closet! LOL Overall I think Germans are cool, different, but cool!

  8. I dont like Germans, i think they are so boring!

  9. ERIC S--I agree with you...

Thank you for telling us about your first hand experience in Germany.  This was very enlightening, and that person was right, when you have a gun to your head, you vote for that person.  I wish I had your E-mail to thank you for this information.

I think German people are misunderstood by a lot of people, and since the war, those stereotypes have stuck.  Not all Germans wanted to fight for Hitler, but they had to.  My husband´s uncle is the SWEETEST man, and he was one of them.

Personally, I have not encountered one rude German, but maybe that´s because I look for good in all people.  Until you prove me wrong, I´m going to like you.  I live in Bavaria, and love, love, love it here.  I´m learning the language so I can understand what others are saying, and I hope to live here forever.

    Viva la Germany!

  10. They have cute accents and are likely to be better informed than Americans about politics and history.

  11. They're very German

  12. Look, I am german so maybe not best qualified to answer this question. I have lived abroad for 7 years and I can honestly say that I believe there is no typical German or English or Brazilian person. There are good people and bad people and the choice is not always easy. As Eric said: If you have a gun pointed at you you vote for the person who holds the gun. Not everybody in Germany is or was a n**i. Just like not every english person was involved in the slave trade and not every person in Afganisthan plants opium for a living. I think question like this are in fact quite dangerous as they give people with very narrow minds a platform to voice their sometimes rather strange opinions.

    All the best

  13. Cold, rude, snobbish, racist & have no idea on how to have fun.

  14. Ahhh, I love Germany.

Well lets see... I think Germans are very smart, rational, efficient, objective thinkers, clean, great drivers, travelers, and they definitely know how to drink!

  15. I helped fight against the Germans in the second world war and ended up in the Army of Occupation for some time.  I found that beyond the n***s and other fanatics they were just the same as you and I  I found a friend there and we still visit a couple of times a year to each others home. Through him I have met many others.  Hitler lead the recovery of Germany after the first world war and made a good job it it. Unfortunately he like many world leaders wanted to go on for more.  I remember after a discussion with my friend, he said, "when you have a gun pointed at your head you vote for the one that holds the gun".  To, conclude your question I would say they are alright, in fact I prefer them to some of our  alleged friendly people in other countries.

  16. fine beings...perhaps a wee bit conceited - but hey, aren't most mid-european countries (England included...or should that be 'especially')? Guten Tag.

  17. they are punctual and organised and know how to have a good time!!

  18. I cannot see beyond their actions in WW2.  No matter how hard I try, like the appalling things that the US is doing in Iraq and Afghanistan, I can't understand how people can ever forgive.

It appears that I've managed to offend many.  I genuinely apologize.  The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are wrong though, they have no justification.  The evidence for going to war was very weak and probably all made up.  9/11 was an immense tragedy that shouldn't have happened.  It takes very little research before it becomes obvious that the US government MUST have played a part in it.

  19. very loud (im from german) - und ich weiß dass du diese frage gestellt hast :D

    wie auch immer ...

    deutsche sind GEIZIG

  20. Krautz,rude,Neo-n***s,punctuality,,come across to the border to enjoy hash but this time they dont take any bicycles away!!

  21. I can honestly say I love every German I've met.

  22. Most of the Germans I know have a really odd sense of humour - very physical, very visceral, often scatalogical - and have no understanding of irony. Also they all seem to be really obsessed with their digestive systems!

  23. closer to amsterdam than i am.

  24. Have you watched the film "Schindler's List"?  That was the 2nd World War.

Did you have your family ripped apart in the slaughter of the innocents in the First World War?

    Sorry - I can't forgive.

  25. In general, Germans are:

    Orderly

    Respectful & well-mannered

    Good drivers

Not very creative due to german laws, which comes back to organizing and controlling order

    Love of beer

Culture of conservation (food, energy, etc...)

    Serious

    Smart

    Into kinky s*x

    The German men:

The cheapest I've ever seen in my entire life! I have had so many experiences with cheap men here, it's not even funny. The saddest example was when I was on a date and I was fifty cents short for paying for my drinks...the guy almost freaked out when I asked for fifty cents. So sad! I'm not sure why they are like this here. Does anyone else know?

  26. my brother is married to a german woman and shes great. you tend to find the younger generation are brill, where as the older generation (grandparents) can be quite rude and ignorant.

  27. The best drivers in the world.  Makers of great food and even better automobiles, as well as many other forms of innovative technology.  Rather spartan and blunt, but for the most part friendly, considerate, and hospitable.  Hard-working--but only strictly within the hours they're accustomed to working.  Overall... great people, and I'm very fond of them.  I miss living amongst them in Germany.
