  1. It depends on whether the nicety has been performed on the person comment on it or not.

You get them something really nice and they think they are totally undeserving then they "Oh you're too nice."

They see you get trampled and you get up and say thank you with a smile and say the same thing they are usually saying "My how naive you are."  or "Grow a backbone."  depending on the context.

  2. compliment

  3. it depand to the person who telling you that , but Most like to be a compliment

  4. it'd take it as a complement. but it depends on the person's tone too.

  5. Yeah, I guess they are saying that you are fake.  I just thought it meant they thought they were cooler, or tougher.

  6. Not so snide as a sneer....merely a gentle push off of disinterest.  Not unkind, when you think about it.

  7. When the person cares about your opinion and when it means something in his/her life..............

  8. From my experience, it may not be that they think you are a fake, but just that they are a little taken aback. I realize that people are not used to others being too nice, so they can get weirded out sometimes. It still see it as a compliment though.

  9. iono, i've been told that a lot i take it as a compliment. unless they think im being too nice that im being taken advantage of then i feel like a dumbass cuz their prolly rite. LOL

  10. only you will know that.

    Are you "TOO" nice?

or are you just trying to be nice so you look good?

answer is in you, not in anyone else.

  11. It usually means "You're being a doormat" or "someone is taking advantage of you"

As in "You are way too nice  - that girl stole your parking spot and you still held the door for her"

    "You're so nice" compliment

    "You're so sweet" Compliment

    "You're too smelly" complaint

"You're too sweet" You're an idiot

  12. From personal experience when I have heard people tell other people they are too nice, or I have even been told that they mean that you let people take advantage of you or you let people push you around. Or even you may do too many favors for people. Hope that helps

  13. Depends on both the context and the tone used for the situation.  In some cases, it is obviously a compliment.   However, it could easily be telling you that you are naive or if said sarcastically, something entirely different.

My suggestion, ask the person in question.  It's amazing what we can learn and how we can grow just by taking the time to ask a person what they meant.   Assumptions can kill friendships so I try to clarify things whenever it is warranted.

  14. generally i'd say people take it as more of a good thing. Mainly because you are not trying to hurt anyone, therefore making you look like the sweet heart. If they say it too often, then that could mean they're almost mocking you-meaning the sneer/fake- but 98% of the time, it's probably because they think you are nice, I wouldn't say it to someone who didn't deserve to hear it.

  15. Compliment truly always look on the bright side!

  16. I've said that to my mom! (More than once) I'd take it as someone who loves you, but is questioning your ability to put yourself first. Stick up for yourself!
