In general .. . .. why are plants different?

say you plant ten sunflower seeds at the same time, why do they grow in different sizes and ways?

  1. There are lots of reasons so to name but a few:

    *each plant will not be genetically identical to the next

    *not all areas of the same field will have the same nutrient content so can grow bigger or smaller than the rest depending on how accessible its nutrients are

    *not all areas exposed to the same amount and intensity of sunlight so some may grow towards the sun which is to the left, the one beside it may grow more upwards as it is more effective for photosynthesis to do just that

    * basically, why are humans different? besides the personally part plants are pretty much the same
