Depends.  Canada geese are protected by the Migratory Bird Act and are therefore illegal to kill without a permit and outside of hunting season.  If you accidentally run over one or crush its skull with a golf ball on your tee shot (as I once did - seriously), it should be no big deal.  If you kill it on purpose outside of the legal strictures and get caught, you're in for a fine, at least.
