  1. that would be a great idea..she did a lot of good work for charity & in the end..she was treated so badly.  i dont think her ex husband would allow it though...he would be insanely jealous that the people still have fond memories of her!!

  2. She was not a "saint". She did a lot of work for Charity, yes, but she also manipulated the press to her own ends, did a TV interview to get back at her ex-husband and broke up at least one marriage.

Nobody's perfect, plus there's no national holiday in the UK to celebrate anyone (except Jesus).

  3. Good riddens are you gone out of your mind? Sorry but I think that Diana stuff needs to be put to rest. Let her rest in peace!

  4. a holiday for a beanie baby? thats silly

  5. OMG!  Let her rest you sad person!

  6. I think we should have a day for all the charities she supported then maybe they will get the money they so desperately need.

  7. Nah. She did good things, but she's hardly a national hero. How about a UK day? We have Australia day is Aus, and Independence day in US, why not a day for Britain?

  8. She was a gold digging philanderer, possessed of little wit and less charm.

  9. Prince Charles should not have married Diana, because he didn't love her, but she did not know that at the time. She thought he did so it must have come as a shock to her.

  10. I'd rather have one for Mother Teresa, thanks all the same.

  11. I so sorry that you still feel the pain of loss - but she was a total stranger - and I for one cannot condone her manipulation of newspapers/royal family and lots of men, quite a few who were married.  Yes she should never have married Charles but..she KNEW that he didnt love her as he loves Camilla.

:0( I'm sure she was a wonderful lady and from what we were allowed to see a fantastic mother..but so are lots of others.  As Mrsb just said what of the ppl who give without notice?

Please let it go now..let her rest in peace x

oh and by the way I am not a royalist..so not taking 'sides'

  12. get over it,

If I didn't have to work full time, and I had a private jet with body guards to take me and a camera crew to poor countries so I could hold their hand then I would do that too.

yes she was special and no she didnt' have to do these things but she did, which is great, but get over it, people do charity work every day and it goes unnoticed, how about more recognintion or better pay for aids workers I am sure Di would be happier with that than everyone getting a day off to do f all.

  13. good idea, if some good will come out of it, and not just another day to laze about.

  14. certainly not i have nothing but praise for Diana but thats where it ends//she did have another side to what you know

  15. And what of all the silent helpers who never get noticed day to day year in year out doing good relentlessly.

Whilst she seemed a nice person she was in a position of privilege she was not some deity to be worshipped.  Others died on that day and no one knew them or was with them or ever found out.  Enough already.

  16. As a princess, she was a failure. The poor treatment she got was truly a terrible burden for anyone to bare, but she should have born it, it goes with the job. She should have done the right thing and suffered in silence, not gone off and slept around, or at least she should have been more discreet.

Will she still be kept in such high regard by monarchists 50 years from now, when the official secrets act limitations run out and they release the proof that Prince Charles was not Prince Henry's father ? Could there be a more bitter blow to the monarchy ?

  17. no.

  18. no way there are thousands of people out there that do just as much as diana did . diana was only famous because of who she married .if she had not of married charles no one would ever of known her.

  19. although she may have done some bad things, and obviously isnt the only person that helped people with aids she was still a role model of society, she helped people understand that you can still interact with people who have aids, she helped open the eyes of the public.

although i dont think there would b a national holiday for her over all this stuff about having an affair with dodi al fayed

    BTW who's prince henry?

  20. I can not speak of England. But here in Ireland we celebrate St Patrick's Day and St Patrick was not Irish.

  21. here here' we are welsh and adored Diana's was a wonderful person'and a lot of people will be shocked when its all revealed about that so called accident.and i am going to give you a star cos you deserve it.

  22. Oh for goodness sake!! she wasn't that great a person.  Most of her charity work was done to make her in-laws look bad.  She didn't really care.
