In-ground pool filter gauge reads a constant 25 psi. Is that okay?

I think it used to read about 15-20 psi after we manually took apart the filter and cleaned it. (that was 2 days ago) and now it's at a constant 25. We've changed the DE powder and bumped and backwashed. but it stays at a constant 25 psi. The jets are working fine right now and everything seems fine, just that the gauge is a little high and the pool needs some vaccuming. Is the constant 25 psi okay? and can i just leave it at that or should i do something?

  1. its not too bad really!,next time you should take the grids out of the filter and clean them with a little clr or limeaway.i had to do this in arizona because of the hard water problems.

  2. well, the best thing i could possibly recommend is that you read the instructions on the website of the manufacturer (or contact them through email or phone). Also, try to remember what the gauge read when you first got the pump, as there may have been a gradual build up of calcium which you cleared away, resulting in a pressure difference. or you may have put it in wrong :P
