In guitar hero 3 what is a death drain and how do you use it?

I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO USE DEATH DRAIN AND HOW TO STOP IT BEING USED ON ME IN GUITAR HRO 3

The short answer is practice, practice , practice.  It kicks in automatically when you're dueling with somone.  It's basically the tipping point of no return.  

Once you miss enough notes or your opponent beats you bad enough, the death drain kicks in and there's nothing you can do to stop it.  The reverse is the same if you're beating your opponent bad enough.  There's no way to use it except to keep beating your opponent either through outplaying him or making him miss enough notes with distractions, zaps,  whammies, etc.
