I took Pre-Calculus last year as a freshman

And this year I am supposed to be taking AP Calculus

But, I do not have the proper pre-cal background in order to succeed

(I slacked off a lot in pre-cal unfortunately)

Am I allowed to retake Pre-Calculus and then take AP Calculus next year?

  1. You are at the next level of calculus and I don't think you will able to re-take pre-cal. As long as you complete the rest of your class you should be good in getting all of your credits by the 12th grade. Just to give you advice the 10th-12th grade is no joke. Keep in touch with your guidance counselor to make sure your credits are leveled so you would know what classes can help you level your credits.

    Good Luck :)

  2. Most high schools will let you re-take the course to replace your current grade if you have a low enough grade or it looks like you were "struggling" and didn't get the material. Go talk with your counselor, they should be able to help you. :)

  3. your not supposed to be able to, but i did haha. high school is a joke.
