Please explain how good you need to be(to what extent) at tennis to play on the team...do they teach you anything while you're there? Because I am not that amazing at tennis, I've only played a year or so now, and I have this summer to work on it....but are there any suggestions of how to get better?? any info about HS freshmen sports (preferably tennis) would be MUCH appreciated thank you!!!!

  1. mostschools dont eliminate but they rank you and only top5-10 ever play

  2. this varies on school

if the teams top notch and real good it might be hard to get in

check to see if theres a freshman tema usually u don't try out

but if theres only a jv and varsity team and there fairly good you might have a hard time

check to see if tennis is even a big thing at the HS your going too if not you probably have a good shot at it

  3. Depends on your school. Some schools cut in sports while others accept everyone. Sometimes it even varies by sport. Figure out if it cuts or not. If it doesn't, welcome to the team. But if it does be prepared for a possible disappointment.

  4. all schools are different.

i went into tennis my freshman year(now a senior) having never picked up a tennis racket in my life, and they taught me everything i needed to know. i also went to some summer tennis camps after my first season. usually after you make the team the first time you don't have to try out again.
