  1. Lots of suggestions for KK folding pre-flop already so I wont repeat them. But another situation you might want to do it is if you want to set yourself up to look like a tight player, something like this:

It's an early hand and a high bet that everyone else has folded. You sit and think for a while (make it believable) before "reluctantly" folding them face up after you've made a pact for them to do the same (You can only do this if you're the last player to fold)... Later in the hand when the stakes are higher people will remember you as 'the guy who folds KK pre-flop' and be that much more reluctant to call your bluff.

Another time you might want to do it is when there are 9 other big bets on the table, even though your winning right now at least one of those nine are bound to hit an Ace, flush or straight.

Remember, "Winning now" isn't the same as "best odds".

  2. never

  3. y would u fold a pair a kings preflop thats just stupid

  4. In the unlikely situation in limit holdem where you were in the BB or SB, 10 players at the table, betting goes, raise, re-raise, re-raise, call, call, call, call, call, call... then maybe you should consider folding.

The more people that are in the hand, the weaker a pocket pair gets (pocket aces only wins about 30% of the time), so the more people calling the pot - the more worried you've got to be.

The other situation as others have pointed out is in no-limit, early in a tournament where you would have to call a raise all-in (or close enough to it), too much of a risk your opponent has pocket aces.

  5. no chance.all in

  6. Maybe.

    Maybe not?

    Got you thinking now EH?

  7. Never...

The only hand that can possibly beat you pre-flop would be a pair of aces.  A pair of pocket kings is a gift, never fold them pre-flop.

  8. That depends on how high the bet is, if you didn't want to risk all your money on one hand, then I 'd fold, but it would be hard

  9. 100% all in

  10. Chances are no, but maybe. In a possibility of 2 situations.

    1) If you truly think your tight opponent has AA, maybe you know their game is "only move all in preflop with AA" or whatever. Not saying thats the proper play for them, just that you know your opponent and their style.

    2) If their were a situation in which next player eliminated is the bubble. We're talking a fair chunk of change here. Example: Just using rough numbers.... If I were in a $100 buy in tourny, with 199 other people, top 5 spots pay, 5th gets $1500, and we're down to 6 people. 1 or 2 of the players are real low and neither will be able to survive the next round of blinds unless they win. Say I'm in 3rd or 4th and have a good stack and can survive quite a few rounds of blinds. If the big stacks are tight and push, maybe just maybe the KK goes. I don''t know for certain. I'd actually have to be in the spot and weigh all the circumstances (chips, low stacks, how tight the others are, etc.)

Overall, KK is an extremely tough preflop fold. If the situation were there, maybe 0.0002% chance I'd lay them down.

    >> (3rd option circumstance) In an online tourny I have mucked KK preflop. There was an add on chips option at the break, I was down to $10 of my original 800 or 1000. I felt I was better off to toss the KK. I would have been against 2 other players for that hand. I felt there wouldn't be a big difference if I had $10 or 30, but what was key was the 1500 or 2000 add on option. It wasn't worth the risk against 2 other players, not for $20 more in chips, IF I survived and tripled up. I figured which is the smarter play. Fold the KK, take zero chance, take my $10, guarantee my add on the 1500 or 2000 or risk my $10 against 2 people for a chance of increasing my stack from $10 to 30, which was hardly a difference because blinds were at 200.

  11. In tournament play,In a heart beat if I were close to the bubble and already had the chips to get me in the money.

In cash play if there were more than 2 all ins before me and then it would depend on how big the other stacks pushing were and how big my stack was. If I was playing 1/2 no limit with a max 200 buy in, then i push. I came to gamble not watch the world go by, so yes I would fold in some cases, but most cases I would play. The simple fact is that if you are asking this question then you are well on your way to becoming a serious poker player. Good luck.

  12. The ONLY situation where I would fold pocket kings is this scenario:

I'm in the mid stack, I'm the dealer, and the blinds are already up to half my stack.

3 people before me call, including the chip leader, plus the guy whos a bit ahead of me in chips goes all in.

I'm one away from being in the money (Tourny Play).

The correct thing to do here is FOLD.   No matter what, someone will get knocked out, since 3 of the bettors are already pot committed, and the guy who's a bit ahead of me in chips is already all in.

Just sit back and watch your short stack get in the pay money.

Murphy's law, when you call the all in....he's probably got an ace....and the flop will be x x A

  13. Ive only folded them once, i was the big blind, she was the small blind, we both had around pretty big chip stacks, she raised a little as everyone folded (the blinds were pretty big) she was a pretty tight player so i put her on a hand after the raise.

I reraised about 1/3 of my stack she instantly said all in, i sat for about 2 mins, and said you got aces, she went all red, I mucked my kings, she flipped over her aces and i asked the dealer to flip my cards over.

The 8 people at my table applauded and everyone said they would of never done that.

I would only fold kings if you are facing a very tight player who has only been raising with good hands...........p.s. i came 4th!!!! which sucked

  14. probably never, unless i was playing  at like 100k table and everyone was really tight and they all went all in

  15. no.......!!!!!

  16. Yes if i was in the early stages of a big buy in tourny and there was a raise, a re-raise and a re-raise before me. Chances are you are behind and someone has AA. At best you are up against AK Why risk the all-in so early. If A appears any rag Ace beats you

  17. h**l no

    .

  18. i wouldn't fold any pair preflop....even if its only a low pair you might still make a set on the flop...
