In horror films,when the mad axeman breaks into a house?

Why do people hide under the bed covers when they can run out of the door. Would you feel safe under 2 cotton sheets when a murderer is going to chop you up.

by hiding underneath a bed cover it provides a psychilogical assitance as we can't see our muderer . like ostrich hides it's face in the ground whn it feels dngrs while it's whole big body is visible

No, not cotton sheets.  A good 13.5 tog winter duvet would be fine though...lol.  Just like in teen horror movies - why do they always decide to go into the empty house...

I guess if they ran out of the door or never went to the scary mansion, we'd never have horror movies..
