In hotel terms of reserving a room online what is the feature rate, advanced purchase, and best flexible rate?

This is off the Holiday Inn Express that I am trying to figure out. Do hotels let you reserve a room and just pay when you get there, or is one those terms I listed it?

Most hotels require a credit card to guarantee the reservation, but usually do not charge the card until you check in. Feature rate, best available rate, and so on deal specifically with what you will pay.
