I know it has to so with the sperm carrying a particular s*x chromosome? x or y?

also can it run in the family, having a better chance of having girls or boys? or is it always a 50/50 chance at conception?

  1. It is a fifty fifty chance. It doesn't run in the family. But this is weird. All the people on my husbands side of the family is male by birth. There are no female in the family except bay marriage. This has been that way for 5 generations.

  2. There is always about a 50/50 chance of whether a child will be male or female. It is determined by a certain gene being either XX or XY.

    XX = female

    XY = male

    The chromosone usually looks like an X but a Y will appear with the X if the baby is male. It is the only chromosone, ever, that is not X shaped.

    The XX/XY gene is determined after the featus starts to grow. The b*****s start to grow on the baby before the gene is determined. That is why there are nipples on both sexes. Being a boy or girl doesn't really run in the family. It's the only gene that can't be passed down through generations.

  3. more testosterone. and yes it is always a fifty fifty chance

  4. The male's sperm decides if it is a boy or girl.  Some doctors insist that body temperature has something to do with it.  Cooler lets one s*x swim better than the other or something like that.

    As for it running in the family...  Everyone I know with large families (3+), with the exception of 1, is pretty even in the boy/girl ratio.  There is one girl in our family that has 3 boys.  The rest of us have about 50/50.

  5. You can always try the shettles for folkore method.. and its not 50/50 its 51/49 (a bit stronger chance of getting a boy)
