Is the myth that Peafowls dont intercourse is true ?

In indian culture a myth is prevelent that Peacock & Peahen dont intercourse but the seram of male is passed to female through male's tear which the female sipps. Is that scientifically true ?

  1. They have to mate to be able to make eggs....no, what you've heard is just a myth.....


  2. Males accumulate sperm in s***n near this opening, known as a cloaca. When birds mate they simply touch cloacae, transferring sperm to the female. This only takes seconds, but can happen hundreds of times a day.

    They would have to do it the same as any other bird.
