In installing composite decking, are the railings installed first or is the decking laid first?

  1. your corner posts and center posts will be installed first..and should be coming from the ground level and hopefully anchored or buried in concrete..then the decking goes down..and the handrails last


  2. The corner posts and spanning posts are installed first. They are attached to the joists underneath the level of the floor. The decking is next. Then the railings. This order gives sturdy railings and a good place to walk while finishing up the railings. It usually takes alot of time for the railings with all the cutting and fitting.
