In insurance, Who would a "Home Service Representitive" work for?

The possible answers are:

1) Friendly Societies

2) General Insurance Companies

3) Lloyds

4) Intermediaries

Any help and additional information on Home Service representitives would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Home service reps work for companies and go out to the homes and collect premium.  Normally seen in life insurance - and sometimes referred to as "debit routes."

    So, I would think either 1 or 2 above.

I think the answer is most likely to be 1).  A Home Service Representative is someone from an insurance company who visits a client or potential client in their own home.  It is much more common in life insurance than general insurance.  A Friendly Society is a life insurance company that is owned by its customers - kind of like a co-operative.

    Are you studying for a CII exam or something like that?  I've been studying for CII exams, and I was just wondering if you are too, since the format of the multiple choice questions is very similar.
