In jail what is the intake procedure? what is all done during this time?

I'm out on bail i was caught with prescription pills any information will be helpfull thanks.

You will be taken in and they will finger print you and take down all your information. Yes there will be a strip search when i was in they made me take off my clothes one at a time and when I was completely undressed i had to squat and cough three times. They will have you lift up your b***s and i had to bend over and spread. But jail is different than prison. prison do a more detailed search.

They will inform you that anything in your possession when booked will result in a new charge so now is the time to give it up.Then a female will search you,then you will see a nurse and go over your vaiid medical history,then you will be fitted with green tops and bottoms for a misdemeanor or orange tops and bottoms for a felony.Then you will be fingerprinted and phographed and get your family contact info.

All during this time you will be escorted back and forth to a holding cell with other inmates.

Then you will be assigned and escorted to a permenant cell.

The whole procedure varies in time with the number of other bookings.

They take your personal information, get an emergency contact, do a medical screening, fingerprint, photograph, and you will the shower and change you into jail clothes.

A "strip search" is a matter of jail policy, and may be different for each facility. They do normally have someone observe you change out of street clothes, but it is not an invasive search. That would be a cavity search, and is done by medical personnel.
