I am working on an assignment for a journalism course and I need to find out the exact meaning of a news peg.... anyone know?

  1. A news peg is usuaslly some national story -- or national trend --that a reporter localizes by seeing how people in the community are responding to the news or trend. It's called a peg because you hang your story on it.

    Examples: Coping with gas prices, Miley Cyrus pictures.
