  1. in the cytoplasm

  2. Here's a link to the leaf anatomy

    Chloroplasts are typically found in:

The palisade mesophyll cells - very abundant here

    The spongy mesophyll cells

The guard cells around the stomata.

Epidermal cells and xylem cells lack chloroplasts!

    Hope I answered your question!

  3. Various leaves in plants have different anatomies.

Leaf anatomy or structure includes veins (in angiosperms), epidermis, palisade mesophyll layers, spongy mesphyll layers.  The types of cells that develop chloroplasts, which are organelles in cells, depends upon which cells in the leaf are to be most exposed to the sunlight for photosynthesis, since the chloroplast is responsible for photosynthesis.  In general, you can expect the layer of cells just below the cuticle and upper epidermis to have the greatest concentrtaion of chloroplasts, usually in the mesphoyll layers...compact or palisade, and perhaps the spongy mesophyll.

  4. in the palisade mesophyll cells.....which themselves are in the leaves.

  5. Chlorophyll is found in the pallisade layer in the leaves. It is also found in green stems and other green parts of plants. Since leaves are different, there will be different places to find the chlorophyll. Consider a cactus.
