I know that no one is above the law, and evading justice for years should give not give you the right of leniency, but he is like 80 years old, I don't think any Mail trains have anything to worry about today.. do you?

  1. Ronnie Biggs has been treated fairly and correctly.

Current crime victims are being treated unfairly.

  2. I think that the British Justice System is warped beyond belief sometimes!

Yes, when you consider that a guy can deliberatley run a pedestrian over and kill her and only get a fine and some of the sentences dished out to rapists and murderers are sometimes no more than a few years, it really stinks.

As for Ronnie being treated unfairly, maybe a little in comparison, however he did wrong and I think he has been made an example of in some strange way, but there is no consistency in Britain.

    Life should certainly mean life!

  3. I agree with Divasue.  It was a violent robbery and the train robbers were sentenced according to the policies of the time.  It is a great pity that these policies no longer exist. I have no sympathy for Ronnie Biggs at all.

  4. Well, his case was different. He didn't kill or rape anyone, he stole MONEY! Which is much worse <rolls eyes at the fecked up priorities of the justice system>

  5. yes the man has been thrown in and they can't find the key

  6. I think they should release him now.

What harm can he do now. It will release room for somebody else.

  7. People always glamorise the great train robbery, but they shouldnt, it was a violent crime where a guard was killed. All criminals should be sentenced accordingly, and from what I can gather Mr Biggs wasnt exactly saint like whilst he was in exile.

  8. methinks you are correct my freind

  9. Yes he has been treated very unfairly. He didn't kill anyone and he was only a bit player in the robbery not the mastermind. Compared to the pathetic sentences handed out to murderers, rapists et I think he got a very raw deal and should now be allowed to die with his family in peace.

edit: Divasue - no one was killed during the robbery. The driver was hit over the head but he died several years later of leukemia, nothing to do with what happened during the robbery.

  10. He is low life thieving scum who should be held up as a shining example of how to apply sentencing guide lines.
