Hey

I live in London, been here 11 years but havent eaten out any special restaurants, only the usual (Zilli, Pizza Express, Wagammama, Strada and Oxo Tower) just wondering can anyone reccomend a decent, clean and reasonably priced restaurant for my sisters 30th....my parents are paying - so nowhere overpriced! thanks x

  3. Ciro's Pizza Pomodoro in Knightsbridge - they have the best pizzas in London, an amazing live band, a great atmosphere - you'll end up dancing with the table next to you!  So much fun.  I almost don't want to tell you, or word will get out!!

  7. A really lovely place for a special occasion is Clos Maggiore in Covent Garden. Make sure you request a table in the main room. More info and reviews here:

Before booking, have a look at TopTable.co.uk as they often have special deals for this restaurant:

  8. Lunch or dinner? If it's lunch, have you tried the restaurant at the Globe Theatre yet? It's a nice "occasion" as well as being reasonably priced, having good views and etcetera.

For dinner,  I've recommended this place before - the "oldest French Restaurant in London", the Mon Plaisir in Monmouth Street. Nice people/place/menu and price. (It ain't cheap, but neither does it require a mortgage extension). Check it out at its (frankly rubbish) web site:

No, I don't have shares in the place, I just like it.
