In lost do you think there are cockpit survivors?

I started to watch lost from season 1 again and i noticed that when they find the cockpit and first class cabin there are seats missing and seats that are empty, and there is a rumor that the flight 815 pilot will return in an unexpected way, do you think he is still alive and the body on top of the tree was not his?

Didn't one of the pilots get taken by that black cloud or something?  The survivors were trying to find something in the plane wreckage, and they were attacked.  I havn't heard about one of the pilots returning.  I'm almost done watching it, as they never resolve anything.  It's just one clue after another.
