my buddy told me you cant hunt deer in maryland with a shotgun that has a choke on it, is that true. i was just on the maryland dnr website and found out you also cant hunt deer with buckshots except for 1 county, you have to use slugs, pumpkin balls, or sabots.

You need a choke, no matter what you shoot out of your shotgun. shotguns either have a fixed choke or s***w on chokes of different size.

I think carrol county is the only shotgun county that allows buckshot for deer hunting, the rest require a single solid projectile of 20 gauge or larger.

If you hunt with slugs, use an improved cylinder choke.
