In mens beach volleyball, the Georgian teams players names were Geor and Gia which spells out Georgia. Fake?

yes. it was for show. I mean the chances of that being real are a million to one. Fake.

Their real names are Renato Gomes and Jorge Terceiro who are Brazillian born.  They received citizenship from Georgia from their president and they gave themselves an adopted name of "Geor" and "Gia".  The Georgian women's team did the same thing, except their given names spell Georgia in Georgian ... neat eh? =)
