in your opinion is the U.S. military in a greater position of readiness since we have had to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan in the last 6 years as opposed to having been dormant from use for the same period of time? I just wonder about wear and tear and how that effects the fighter.

  1. Thats just like saying are you better at driving when you drive all the time or you just drive like once a year. Of course, with experience comes knowledge.

  2. Our military is, right now, absolutely the best fighting force in the world. Without question it is also the most "battle tested/hardened" in the world. But, and it is a big but, our military is weary, not so weary it can't take care of anyone wanting to give us trouble but tired enough we won't be wanting to send it into any unnecessary battles/wars like in Africa. The troops need a really good rest and the military's equipment has also taken a terrific beating. It will  take years and many, many billions of dollars to get it back in shape.

ps..We don't want to forget the wounded warriors and the families of the killed in action, We owe them a debt that can never be really re-paid but we are going to have to do our best. Keep them in your prayers and in notes/letters/e-mails to your representatives. Don't let them be forgotten like the vets were after Korea and Vietnam.
