In missouri, does the car owner keep the title, or does the lienholder keep it?

  1. if you don't own, who you make your payments to holds the title (the leinholder)


  2. Most States dealers send you a Copy of the actual title so you can get the vehicle registered but not sell it before it is paid off.

  3. You could have the title but it will show the lienholder on the title.

    Or the lienholder can keep it until the vehicle is paid off.  Then they will send the title to you in your name only
