In movies why do the criminals run away to mexico, or pass the mexican border???????

  1. The movies are one thing, real life is another. The U.S. can go after those who flee to Mexico. Now if you want a place to run to go to the bahamas then board a plane for Cuba. They don't go after you there!


  2. It's because Mexico doesn't have the death penalty. They won't extradite a prisoner unless the US government assures them that the prisoner won't be subject to the penalty of death.

  3. because they can't arrest you in mexico for something you did here!!!

  4. it is a fantasy ending...you can be extradicted back to the US even if you leave the country. Mexico is not a safe house for criminals. Movie writers need to get a better ending for these movies!

  5. it used to be that Mexico did not extradite back to the USA.

    also, in the south of the USA, Mexico is the closest foreign land where US law does not apply.  so if you crossed the border and were in hot persuit, the cops could not legally chase you anymore...but if you cross at a border crossing, then mexican patrol agents would arrest you for illegally crossing into Mexico.
